Repaying Master Sheng Yen’s Kindness By Learning The Ways of Bodhisattva Guanyin – DDM Thai Devotees Perform Repentance Prostrations During The Transmitting The Light of Dharma Ceremony

On February 4 at 9 a.m., DDM Association of Dharma Supporters in Thailand organized a special Dharma assembly to practice the Guanyin Dharma method, known as the "Great Compassion Repentance Ritual." This ritual served as a prelude to the "Rising Great Compassion with Continual Vows – Dharma Drum Transmitting the Light of Dharma Ceremony" that was held to commemorate DDM founder Master Sheng Yen. Both ceremonies were led by Ven. Chang Chi, wherein numerous participants made vows to learn the compassionate ways and wisdom of Guanyin, cultivate the great Bodhi mind together, and practice the Bodhisattva way — all as a way to repay the kindness of Master Sheng Yen.
 
During the Dharma Talk, Ven. Chang Chi indicated that the reason for organizing this ceremony was for the four assemblies of Buddhist disciples to cherish the memories they had of DDM founder Master Sheng Yen in addition to commemorating his influence on Buddhist education. Through the ceremony of transmitting the light, the participants reminisced on Master Sheng Yen's kindness, and vowed to continue to promote Master Sheng Yen's "Fivefold Spiritual Renaissance Campaign" as well as apply "Protecting the Spiritual Environment" in their daily lives.
 
Shi Tang Lin and Yu Wen Wang, who once lived in Thailand and traveled back there because of work, are dedicated devotees of DDM Association of Dharma Supporters in Thailand. They thought they had missed the "Transmitting the Light of Dharma Ceremony," but happily joined the ceremony upon discovering that the association was also holding the same event. Shi Tang Lin said, "To be able to come back to the DDM Association of Dharma Supporters in Thailand again really felt like coming back home, for this is our home in Thailand."
