DDM Social Welfare & Charity Foundation Provides Nepalese Orphans with New Clothes and Stationery for a New Semester

On the way to Ngagyur Memorial School, which is under reconstruction with full financial aid from DDM, to present gifts and greetings to some 400 orphans, as well as to inspect their current situation at the resettlement near the school, DDMSWCF’s volunteers handed each schoolboy (or girl) a new set of school uniform and stationery, in the hope that they can enjoy a peaceful study environment at the new school. Volunteers also received a warm welcome by the abbot Khenpo Tashi Tsering Rinpoche and others who were present.

“In the process of distributing relief materials in the village Mugpak-Kavre, located in the southeast mountainous area of Kathmandu, we have come to fully appreciate how hard it is to recover these areas, given the long bumpy roads and collapsed walls everywhere. Nevertheless, seeing the resilience of the affected people and their resolution to rebuild their hometown in such difficult circumstances, lacking of water and electrical power supplies, we hope that Nepal won’t feel alone in the journey of reconstruction, with care, relief aid and support coming from other countries,” a volunteer said.
