Supporting the government’s pandemic prevention work -Dharma Drum Mountain awarded by the Ministry of Health and Welfare

On May 2 at 7 pm, Ke Yaobi and Wang Qiongzhu, respective Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, were invited to attend the "COVID-19 Donation Appreciation and Awards Commendation Gala" organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health and Welfare at the Sheraton Grand Taipei Hotel. There, they represented Dharma Drum Mountain in accepting the Medal of Appreciation. President Tsai Ing-Wen and Premier Chen Chien-Jen especially thanked the NGOs for donating materials and supporting the government's pandemic prevention work throughout the past three years of the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the pandemic prevention period, Dharma Drum Mountain purchased 6 million counts of 1ml vaccine needles using offerings from well-wishers and faithful Buddhists, donating them to various vaccination sites via the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Foundation launched a donation project of more than 120 pandemic prevention and medical supplies in response to different people's needs, taking concrete actions to help domestic medical institutions, care facilities, and social welfare organizations to manage the pandemic with peace of mind. The Foundation also invited well-known Taiwanese cartoonist Zhu Deyong and the Taiwan Union of Nurses Association (TUNA) to collaborate in producing a short film, "Animation of Blessings of Peace and Compassion", to convey the power of peace of mind.

Dharma Drum Mountain stated that it will continue to cooperate with the government to provide timely assistance to those in urgent need, affected by disasters and in poverty, etc. Dharma Drum Mountain calls on the public to jointly safeguard the safety and health of the overall society.
