DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation Aids Turkey – Relief Supplies Sent via a Charter Flight

On February 13 at 10:30 a.m., an Eva Air charter flight departed from Taoyuan Airport to Turkey, carrying relief supplies and urgent essentials provided by six Taiwanese NGOs:  the DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation, Taiwan AID, the Red Cross Society of the R.O.C., World Vision International, Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation, and the Mustard Seed Mission. DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation President Ke Yao-Bi, Secretary General Ven. Chang Shun, and special assistant Lin Zhi-Cong represented DDM while attending the donation ceremony at Taoyuan Airport. Representative Muhammed Berdibek from the Turkish Trade Office in Taipei and his wife Zeynep Dincer Berdibek received the donated materials on behalf of the Turkish government.

With over 17 tons of relief materials on board, the charter plane will be handed over to the Turkish government for its rescue and relief efforts after landing in Turkey. Ven. Chang Shun said that the merits of the relief efforts undertaken by the DDM would be dedicated to all those who have lost their lives during the earthquake that devastated Turkey and Syria, and prayed that the survivors could rebuild their homes quickly.
