Beginner's Guide to Meditation

Start Meditating and Transform Your Life

Available Dates: Saturday, April 13 or June 22
Time: 1:30 - 4:30 pm

Most of us are overstimulated and overscheduled, which leads to mental, emotional, and physical stress. Stress accumulates as a direct result of our out-of-balance lifestyle. Research shows that more than 80% of all doctor visits are due to stress-related complaints, such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, allergies, inability to focus, fatigue, and high-blood pressure.  Does this sound familiar?  If so, this is the class for you.  If you want to improve the quality of your life, have harmonious relationships with people around you and establish a calming and peaceful life, this class is for you too! Just about anyone can benefit from meditation practice, regardless of age, spiritual tradition or physique.

Beginner's Guide to Meditation covers the fundamentals of sitting meditation with practice sessions, including proper bodily posture (while sitting on the cushion or chair), relaxation, and basic methods of meditation. We will discuss the proper environment, equipment, self-massage and important concepts related to the process of meditation.  In addition, you will learn to observe your thoughts and emotions and apply the concepts/methods of meditation to your daily life.  Your mental blocks, resistances, struggles and hang-ups will be addressed by meditation. This is a practical guide to self-discovery and fulfillment.

Please wear comfortable and loose clothing to keep your body warm and relaxed.
