In-person Refuge-taking Ceremony to be Held at Dharma Drum Mountain Los Angeles Center
Taking refuge in the Three Jewels is the first step on the path of learning Buddhism. It means to return to our spiritual home under the guidance of the Three Jewels. According to Master Shen Yen, the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha are called Jewels because they can "generate an inexhaustible amount of merit and wisdom by bringing peace to the world" and "help us thoroughly transcend our negative emotions, sufferings, and achieve awakening."
To introduce people to this path, Dharma Drum Mountain Los Angeles Center (DDM LA) will conduct a Refuge-taking ceremony at the center at 2:30 pm (PST), July 11, 2021. Please contact [email protected] for an application before 5 pm (PST), July 10.
