Dharma Drum Mountain Branches Worldwide Celebrate the Buddha’s Birthday

April 8 of the Lunar year calendar which falls on May 19 this year is the date when Chinese Buddhists commemorate the birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. To celebrate this the Buddha's birthday, the monasteries and branches of Dharma Drum Mountain worldwide have started series of online Bathing the Buddha Prayers Events since May 1.
 
On May 8 from 9 am to 11 pm PST, Zarko Andricevic, one of Master Sheng Yen's Dharma heirs, will give a special Dharma talk titled "The Way of Practice and Enlightenment" hosted by Dharma Drum Mountain San Francisco Bay Area Center. Through Zoom and the monastery's Facebook live-stream page, Zarko will talk about how the Buddha practiced, why he himself followed Master Sheng Yen's teachings, and how we should practice.
 

Dharma Drum Mountain's monasteries in North America (Vancouver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco) have jointly organized a series of online celebration events on May 22, including online Bathing the Buddha Dharma assembly (10:00 – 11:30 am PST), Bathing the Buddha Ritual (2:00 – 5:00 pm PST), and a Dharma Talk given by the Abbot President Venerable Guo Huei (5:00 – 5:40 pm PST). The online Dharma assembly and Venerable Guo Huei's talk will be live-streamed on Zoom (Code: 2020) and Facebook.
 

Dharma Drum Singapore will conduct the Bathing the Buddha ceremony broadcasted live on Facebook page to pray for the peace and health of the world.
