30 Students Graduate from DDBC and DDSU

It was the culmination of several years of dedicated in-depth studies and practice into orthodox Chinese Buddhism and the teachings and philosophy of DDM’s Founder Venerable Master Sheng Yen for the new Bhikshus and Bhikshunis (monks and nuns).

Abbot President of Dharma Drum Mountain Venerable Guo Dong who presided over the ceremony, sent his personal warmest wishes and encouraged the graduates to bravely shoulder the task for the propagation of Chinese Buddhism and Master Sheng Yen’s ideals with a Bodhisattva mindset as respected Bhikshus and Bhikshunis (monks and nuns) with the vision of ‘building a pure land’ on earth.

In his congratulatory speech, President of the DDBC Venerable Hui Min highlighted the significance of the specially designed graduation robes, both in terms of colour and style which was different from that of most ordinary colleges. It served to remind the graduates that their graduation was quite unique and the robes immediately gives them instant recognition as graduates of the DDBC and the DDSU.
