DDMSWCF conducts a successful humanitarian mission in Northern Mindanao

After the event, the Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) conducted a humanitarian distribution from 10th to 15th May 2012 for nearly 8,000 suffering households. This mission followed an earlier financial donation (US$105,000) in March this year.

With aid from Taiwan Association INC Philippines (TAP), Taipei Economics and Cultural Office in the Philippines, Filipino Chinese Cultural and Economic Association and Shi-Tai United Fund INC, the DDMSWCF relief team led by its Executive Director Hung-Ji Chiang, successfully arrived in Cagayan de Oro and Lligan with relief materials - the two cities that suffered the most.

Executive Director Chiang said that relief materials included carpets, stainless cups, milk powder, slippers, underpants, and the ’108 Adages of Wisdom of the late Master Sheng Yen’ brochure, for nearly 8,000 households. The DDMSWCF sincerely wished these typhoon-afflicted people a swift recovery from the incident and to get back into their normal lives.
