The event began with a senior DDM devotee, Mr. Chen Wu-hsiung, former Minister of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan R. O. C. , and sixteen young people on stage instructing the attendees in Eight Form Moving Meditation and to be aware of their mind and of the significance of inner peace when relaxing.

Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong said we could lessen the pressure we may feel as long as our mind stays calm and settled. Then we can encounter reality with a positive attitude that would bring us encouraging consequences.

He expounded that the society will become virtuous if peace exists within each of us. This is also what the ‘Protecting the Spiritual Environment’ has taught, as advocated by the Late Venerable Master Sheng Yen, the founder of Dharma Drum Mountain.
