DDM invites you to attend the presentation ceremony of Phra Sassada Buddha statue on 12 October

On 12 October 2008, Dharma Drum Mountain World Center for Buddhist Education will host the grand presentation ceremony of the Phra Sassada Buddha statue which will be presented by a representative of the King of Thailand. The ceremony will be co-hosted with Thai Venerables.

The Phra Sassada Buddha statue is one of 19 statues that were carefully hand casted by the Thai people in commemoration of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's eightieth birthday. The statue will enshrine at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan Township, Taipei County, in honor of the friendship between Taiwan and Thailand and their respective Buddhist communities.

Each brass statue covered with gold leaves is about one meter in height and 19 inches in breadth, and will be independently enshrined at significant Buddhist organizations in nineteen different countries.

The founder of DDM, the Most Venerable Master Sheng Yen, and Abbot President, Venerable Guo Dong, will attend this majestic ceremony together with the representative of the King of Thailand and other honorable guests.
