The Great Compassion Water and Land Dharma Service 2012 Concluded with Dignities and Compassionate Vows

In the afternoon of the 1st of December 2012, the 8-day Great Compassion Water and Land Dharma Service which took place at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education was drawn to an end with dignities, and with compassionate vows made by thousands of devotees whilst wholeheartedly chanting the holy name ‘Nanmo Amitoufo’ in the Grand Buddha Hall.

DDM Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong stated that peace on earth is attained when our mindset stays in peace, so ‘building a pure land on earth’ is not just a slogan but practical evidence that can be scrutinized.

The year 2012 is the 20th anniversary of ‘Protecting the Spiritual Environment’ for DDM. The DDM Sangha encouraged one to carry the pious attitude practiced in the 8-day service to everyday life for peace, and to have gratitude at heart when searching for resolutions in the face of daily difficulties.

Only strength rises from our vows, the Abbot President said. The DDM Sangha is committed to ‘building a pure land on earth’ with every devotee, to making good vows to build a better future for next generations, and to promoting the Dharma and the Chan joy.
