Chan Buddhist Meditation Practice and Discussion – in English

Content:Meditation in different types including eight-form moving meditation, sitting meditation, walking meditation, etc. The activity will be wrapped up by group discussion.
Admission fee:Free, donation to DDM is welcome.

This event will be led by Monastic from Dharma Drum Mountain.

The Peace of Mind Relief Station at Jiaxian District, Kaohsiung, of the DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation organized an inspirational event on 11 November, 2012, to visit the Christian Bethany Home in Pingtung, where hundreds of people with disabilities receive love of God.
On the morning of 15 December 2012, the Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) held the End-of-Year philanthropic party at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education. More than 600 residents of Shanzhi, Shimen, Wanli and Jinshan attended the event to celebrate and nurture compassion.
On 25 September 2012, the DDM Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWCF) medical team arrived at the Chenjiaba Township in northern Sichuan Province to offer treatment to disadvantaged villagers.
In the afternoon of the 1st of December 2012, the 8-day Great Compassion Water and Land Dharma Service which took place at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education was drawn to an end with dignities, and with compassionate vows made by thousands of devotees whilst wholeheartedly chanting the holy name ‘Nanmo Amitoufo’ in the Grand Buddha Hall.
Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong visited Dharma Drum Mountain in San Francisco (DDM SF) during 2 - 4 November 2012 where he shared his views on how to make and fulfill vows and approach life with gratitude.
Master Pa Auk Sayadaw visited the Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC) on 13 November 2012, giving a speech and conducting an exchange of Chan practice at the institution.
The Abbot President Venerable Guo Dong attended a special scholarship ceremony held by the Taiwan Foundation for Rare Disorders at Taipei Howard Hotel on 10 November 2012.
The Great Compassion Water and Land Dharma Service 2012 begins from 24 November to 1 December.

On the 26th and the 27th of October, 2012, the Dharma Drum Buddhist College (DDBC) hosted a special international conference entitled ‘Chan Tradition in Buddhism: Origin and Development’ in discussion of Chan’s origin and development in Buddhism – at the DDM World Center for Buddhist Education.
The Dharma Drum Mountain Social Welfare and Charity Foundation (DDMSWF) have successfully brought its seven-year relief programs in southern Leyte Province, Philippines to an end.
