As a way to show gratitude and repay kindness, the seven-day Amitabha Recitation Retreat is a popular event for many practitioners during the Tomb-Sweeping Festival. Of various Buddhist methods of practice, reciting Amitabha Buddha’s name is a most straightforward and effective way to help us gather our mind and live in the present. By reciting Amitabha Buddha’s name in one-minded concentration without confusion and distraction, we will be more able to calm and settle our mind.
The Sheng Yen Education Foundation hosted the 4th International Sheng Yen Education Foundation Conference from 1st to 4th June 2012 at the Convention Center of National Taiwan University, where over a hundred of Buddhist scholars and professionals from around the world attended, and over sixty well-researched papers on the Master’s thoughts were presented.
On 12 June, 2012, the 39-member delegation of the Central Policy Unit of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region visited DDM World Center for Buddhist Education in Jinshan District of New Taipei City for the first time to enhance their understanding of the late Venerable Master Sheng Yen’s vision.
